Final Fantasy XIV Gil: A Realm Reborn has not only uplifted Square Enix in terms of profits and acclaim, but it has also renewed the franchise with a worthy successor to the MMO genre. Square has completely reinvented Eorzea with a multitude of in-game enhancements, including breathtaking visuals, enamoring characters, and a slew of gear, items and character-specific skills–and the changes are paying off.

Given time–and fresh waves of updated content–we’ll likely see more users attach themselves to the fantasy MMO, and it’s fair to say that Square has learned from their mistakes and knows what not to do with the fate of new Eorzea. It seems like there have been a dozen games that have cost hundreds of millions to make and promised engrossing worlds. However, they all failed in one major way: they had no soul. FFXIV Power Leveling: ARR didn't suffer from that problem.
